Update I've managed to match the printing quality of Rick's reference photo when printing through KDE/Cups. As a reference for when I need to make this work on another computer and possibly to help anyone else who has the same issues as I did I will outline the steps here. Update Having a chance to finally play some more, I've found part of my problem. To make cups use the newly installed GS 8.54 I had to edit: # vi /etc/foomatic/filter.conf and add/change the following two lines: gspath: /usr/local/bin/gs execpath: /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin Then restart cups: # rccups restart or # /etc/init.d/cups restart Color images are vast

Your correct, it does print fine from a postscript file using foo2hp2600-wrapper and nc. Strange. Something must be happening within KDE or cups. Thanks for the help. Back to troubleshooting for me... Kenn

Good Day, I've been playing with this issue for a while now and I believe I have tried all the solutions offered within the new and old forums and still have not been able to make a decent color print. The colors do look good but there is also a crosshatch in black within the colored prints. Some specs to help diagnose: OpenSUSE 10.1 foo2zjs released 2006-12-23 $ uname -a
