Thanks,

That worked and the program was made and installed.

BUT, It still does not print:

Every thing appears right but nothing works????

The driver is:
Quote

HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Foomatic/foo2zjs-z3 (recommended)

Quote

URI = usb://HP/LaserJet%20CP1025nw?serial=00000SV051YHS

When I try and print a test page it just stays idle and nothing happens.

What do you suggest?

Thanks

Try this:
$ cd foo2zjs

$ foo2zjs-wrapper -z3 -L0 -P testpage.ps > xxx.prn

$ ls -l xxx.prn
-rwxr--r-- 1 rick rick 93767 Oct 16 06:54 xxx.prn

$ su
# cp xxx.prn /dev/usb/lp0
What does that say???

Thanks for your help,

This what the output is:

Quote

[troypulk@localhost foo2zjs]$ foo2zjs-wrapper -z3 -L0 -P testpage.ps > xxx.prn
foo2zjs-wrapper: Unknown model code 3
[troypulk@localhost foo2zjs]$ ls -l xxx.prn
-rw-r--r-- 1 troypulk live 0 2011-10-16 14:32 xxx.prn
[troypulk@localhost foo2zjs]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost foo2zjs]# cp xxx.prn /dev/usb/lp0
cp: cannot create regular file `/dev/usb/lp0': No such file or directory
[root@localhost foo2zjs]# cp xxx.prn /dev/usb/lp0
[root@localhost foo2zjs]#

But when I made the folder "usb" this would work. Then also there was an error when I tried to print a test page that said:

Quote

Printer State: idle - if you have more than one S printer connected to this machine, please unload (and blacklist) the "usblp" kernel module as otherwise CUPS will not be able to distinguish your printers.

But when I restart the computer the "usb" folder disappears and the Printer State stays idle when trying to print a test page.

Thanks again

Sorry That this is taking so long, I have two HP printers that connect to USB and they work just fine and this CP1025nw also connects to USB and works but there is no data on the page.

But the folders your looking for (/dev/usblp /dev/usb) do not exist.

Quote

# modprobe usblp
FATAL: Module usblp not found.

As soon as I figure out how to create the Dir usb and usblp and have them not disappear after reboot we will be able to proceed.

Thanks

Thanks for your help.

Well, I didn't even think about using it with a network, I just went full speed ahead using the USB.

I hooked it up on my network and got it running in 5 min. and every thing works!

I feel stupid ;-)

Thanks again

Troy
