hi !

i've just install my printer following the instructions of "http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/"; and "http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ubuntu/hp1020.html"; but when i send something to print, the printer it does not do anything.

if someone knows what its happens, please help me.

Do this from foo2zjs directory:

$ foo2zjs-wrapper -L0 -z1 testpage.ps > xxx
$ sudo cp xxx /dev/usb/lp0

Did that work?

If so, then its a CUPS problem with specifying /dev/usb/lp0. Do this:

$ sudo grep DeviceURI /etc/cups/printers.conf
DeviceURI usb:/dev/usb/lp0

What does that say?

You have not followed the instructions.

You have a outdated or THIRD PARTY foo2zjs!!!! From BEFORE HP 1018/1020/1022 was added (e.g. Nov. 14, 2005 or earlier).

Here are the instructions again. Please follow them.

    $ wget -O foo2zjs.tar.gz http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/foo2zjs.tar.gz
    $ tar zxf foo2zjs.tar.gz
    $ cd foo2zjs
    $ sudu make uninstall
    $ make
    $ ./getweb 1020             # Get HP LaserJet 1020 firmware file
    $ sudo make install install-hotplug cups
