Can't install HP Laserjet P1102w printer [solved]

I have followed the instructions to install the driver for the HP Laserjet P1102w printer without any problem. When I run "$ sudo system-config-printer" the window "Printers - localhost" opens that says "there are no printers configured". Also, I cannot add printers from "system settings" because it cannot find any connected printer.
Any advice?
Thank you

My major printer is an HP 1102w. Works good, lasts a long time! Running on Fedora 29.

You need to system-config-printer -> "+ Add" the printer.

Then either do a network install like socket://192.168.1.15:9100 or a USB install like usb:/ for the Device URI.

Also, have you read "HP SMART INSTALL NOTES" in the INSTALL doc?

HP SMART INSTALL NOTES
----------------------
    The printers HP LaserJet Pro M12a, HP LaserJet Pro P1102,
    HP LaserJet Pro CP1025, and simliar models have a virtual CD-ROM
    (a fake USB CD drive) in USB mode. You can disable this three ways:

    Method 1:
        NOTE: this is a non-open-source method!
        - Connect the printer to a Windows PC and turn it on.
          The fake CD-ROM appears on Windows.
        - Insert the original Driver CD that ships with the printer
        - Run SIUtility.exe or SIUtility64.exe from the UTIL folder and
          COMPLETELY DISABLE THIS "HP SMART INSTALL" FEATURE.

    Method 2:
        - Install usb_modeswitch and usb_modeswitch-data from your distro's
          repository. I.E.:
            # dnf install usb_modeswitch usb_modeswitch-data
          OR
            $ sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch-data
          OR
            Surf to: http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/
        - Power cycle the printer.

    Method 3:
        NOTE: this is a non-open-source method!
        - Execute:
            $ wget http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/smartinstall/\
                SmartInstallDisable-Tool.run
            $ sh SmartInstallDisable-Tool.run
        OR (2016 and later):
        - Execute:
            https://web.archive.org/web/20160316030640/http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/smartinstall/SmartInstallDisable-Tool.run
            $ sh SmartInstallDisable-Tool.run

Grateful.
Following your instructions I found an error in CUPS, I reinstalled cups and the system recognized the printer.
Then I selected the driver from the database and the printer works.
I am sorry that I cannot report more accurately but my knowledge of Linux is quite scarce.
Again, thank you very much for your help.
