How to make colors less dark?

Hello, and first thank you for this driver, I was happy to donate! I just got a cp1215 second hand, and it does a much better job at colour printing than my previous Samsung.

Printing solid colours is OK. Printing pictures with 1 bit per plane is just a little too dark, but the raster is not good. Printing from a PDf and forcing rasterization is a little better. Printing with 2 bit per pane would give an excellent result if it was not so dark.

I've managed to get acceptable colours by increasing brightness by 100% in Gimp, but that's not really a workaround ( and 2 bit per plane does not always work correctly, but of this I was warned).

Not being a graphics specialist, does this have something to do with the ICM ? the problem is discussed for many printers with Linux, but no one seems to have a solution (I had this with the Samsung too).

Regards,
Thierry
