Feature request: Ignore "empty" cartridges

Hello developers,

is it possible to implement a function making the printer ignore cartridges with a page counter of zero?
Most time those cartridges can print about 100 additional pages before they are really empty.
The Windows driver has this function and in my opinion it just saves plain money.

Is there a possibility that I can help ( capturing USB traffic... )?

Greetings,
jsthemaster.

I used Win/XP version "20080208.000" of the HP/Marvell driver. No such option exists.

Said option does exist, but you have to install the kitchen-sink of HP software instead of just the driver itself. The interesting bit is that it's set in the firmware on the printer, so it's a one-time task.
