CP1215 stopped printing in color [gs 8.64 is toast]

I bought my CP1215 on 14 January and I set it up correctly, so that it worked both in B&W and color modes. A few days ago, however, I noticed that color printing didn't work.

The printer just does nothing when you sent a color job to it, but CUPS reports that the job was completed successfully. The printer prints correctly in color from Windows XP running on VirtualBox.

I use ArchLinux with kernel 2.6.28 and CUPS 1.3.9.

Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you.

$ cd foo2zjs
$ foo2hp2600-wrapper -c -G hp1215-argyll-0.icm testpage.ps > xxx.prn
$ ls -l xxx.prn
-rw-rw-r-- 1 rick rick 346272 2009-02-12 11:12 xxx.prn
$ cp xxx.prn /dev/usb/lp0
What does that say?

Well, my printer is not connected directly to the computer, but to a D-Link DI-524UP Wireless router and print server, so the line "cp xxx.prn /dev/usb/lp0" is not applicable.

However, the generated xxx.prn file is only 72 bytes long:

$ ls -l xxx.prn
-rw-r--r-- 1 pepe pepe 72 feb 12 18:28 xxx.prn

Thanks for answering.

It is ghostscript. Works here on Fedora 9 and 10.
$ rpm -qa | grep ghostscript
ghostscript-8.63-4.fc10.i386

That makes sense. I've got ghostscript 8.64-1 compiled a week ago and updated last Friday. I'll report the problem to the ArchLinux forums.

Thanks a lot.

It definitely is ghostscript: printing works OK after downgrading ghostscript to version 8.63. Is this a general problem with version 8.64, or can it be an issue with the ArchLinux package?

Don't know. Fedora blesses 8.63.

This issue has been solved with the new ArchLinux package of ghostscript 8.64 compiled yesterday.

Thank you again.
