color print not working [ghostscript 8.64 is TOAST]

I can confirm that printing color on the C5100 with the newest Feb 16 15:37 foo2zjs.tar.gz file is broken. I also use Gentoo. Up until a few weeks ago, this was working PERFECTLY!!! The previous version I had installed was from 12/31/2008 and it worked perfect. However, I might have to suspect that something in Gentoo broke because the 12/31/2008 version just one day stopped working. I uninstalled everything (including cups) and reinstalled from scratch today, but no go. Black and white works fine. Color seems to make the printer warm up, but nothing ever comes out. The print job shows up in cups, then disappears as if it completely successfully.

Anybody have any ideas????

Oh, I should also note that I have an old SuSE box (8.1) which has foo2zjs installed on it (built from source, just like the docs sugguest) and it still works. I even tried using that source file to build on Gentoo and it exhibited the same behaviour as previously mentioned. BTW, that build is from 2/16/2008. The most recent build I tried above was from 01/22/2009.

So this definately has something to do with Gentoo. What besides ghostscript is required by foo2zjs? My version of ghostscript is... well this is bizarre... it says version 0?!, but it was installed on 12/24/08 which is back when my C5100 worked... BUT, ghostscript-gpl version 8.64 was installed on 02/06/09... this may have been around the time it broke. I will downgrade ghostscript-gpl to the oldest version, 8.62 and see if that fixes it.

Installing ghostscript-gpl-8.62 fixed the problem. I can now print in color!!! There are 2 other versions of app-text/ghostscript-gpl in Gentoo Portage (as of 2/17/2009), but I haven't tested them. They are 8.63 (~)8.63-r1. The one that was installed that broke the color printing was 8.64. For now, I am just going to hard mask anything above 8.62.
