I've been using HP LaserJet P1006 with Fedora for a few years now - it worked flawslessly till... I've upgraded to Fedora 21 (fresh install).
I've followed steps to install the printer (same way as I did in the past) and... I get printer installed, but it just won't print anything.
dmesg shows printer was found correctly:
[ 23.740292] usb 4-5: new high-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci
[ 23.875172] usb 4-5: New USB device found, idVendor=03f0, idProduct=3e17
[ 23.875179] usb 4-5: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 23.875183] usb 4-5: Product: HP LaserJet P1006
[ 23.875187] usb 4-5: Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
[ 23.875191] usb 4-5: SerialNumber: AC22Y69
[ 23.878628] usblp 4-5:1.0: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 7 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x03F0 pid 0x3E17
I can add printer using `system-config-printers` dialog, but any attempt to print a test page or anything else - fails. I've checked the paper size - it's correctly set to A4.
Side note - in the past, I would hear two warming ups when I switched on the printer - second one was an indication that firmware was loaded correctly. Now the second warmup doesn't happen at all :(
Any help much appreciated! Many thanks!
