Ip-adress of a Laserjet 1600?

Hi,

i have two problems:

- my english is very bad (I´m from Germany)
- i don`t understand which ip-adress the 1600 has.

"Now create printer entries for your spooler. Create at least one queue for monochrome, and another queue for color printing. Create the queues first, then edit them and set the device options as desired. "

Is it right when i create the printer with the hostname of the usb-device?
Or has the 1600 a ip-adress?
Where can i find it?

Thanks a lot.

best reguards (is it right?)

It is an USB address, e.g. /dev/lp0/usb0.

Thank You!

I try it in the evenning, because i`m on work.
When i print the status-sheet its like "hp:usb/hp_color_laserjet_1600/serial...."

Hi,

the printer works, colors are very good, but i have the same problem as "ben106" with his 2600, the "alligator-skin" when i print Photos.
In the Thread "Bad Photo Printing" i don`t understand how to kill the problem.

Read GHOSTSCRIPT BUGS in INSTALL. You read that, right?

Moin,

yes, i read it, but Ghostscript 8.61 was installed.
I installed version 8.62 as shown in INSTALL.
But its the same problem.

The photo from "ben106" could be printed on my printer.

Or have I done a misstake?
