foo2hp compilation

Hello
i'm from FRANCE on Kubuntu 7.10 gutsy
i have an HP color laserjet 1600 printer connected on a QNAP TS101 NAS server.

i'm trying to install foo2hp folowing the procedure but
edwige@DellVostro1700:~/foo2zjs$ make
#
# Dependencies...
#
      ***
      *** Error: /usr/include/stdio.h is not installed!
      ***
      *** Install Software Development (gcc) package
      *** for Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install build-essential
      ***
make: *** [all-test] Erreur 1
edwige@DellVostro1700:~/foo2zjs$

can you help me ?

Do you read the INSTALL file?

$ sudo apt-get install build-essential

edwige@DellVostro1700:~/foo2zjs$ sudo make uninstall
edwige@DellVostro1700:~/foo2zjs$ make
#
# Dependencies...
#

it's now ok with superuser rigths
and it works perfectly with my network
