Adjusting Margins [solved; read the maintenance manual]

Hello,

I have problems for adjusting the printing margins in the printer. The paper is printed 1.3' lower than it should be, and it is also a little bit wider than 8.5' (for a letter size paper). Is there any workaround?

Best Regards,

soub

That is what I get for 8.5" x 11" paper. No need to adjust margins. They are RIGHT.
$ dc
6k
10200 1200 /p
8.500000
6600 600 /p
11.000000

$ cd foo2zjs
$ foo2zjs-wrapper testpage.ps > xxx
$ nc 192.168.1.10 9100 < xxx

printed fine on a 2300 DL...

Maybe you need to repair the 2300 DL.

The testpage was printed 1" below the upper sheet border. Sheet dimensions are perfect. It is just the impression that is offset 1" below that it should be (this time a used a rule to check dimensions). In WinXP the impression is Ok.

What you mean by repairing the 2300DL?

I am thinking to change the upper offset: -u xoffxyoff: Set the offset of the start of the printable region from the upper left corner, in pixels .... The defaults should work on the 2200DL and 2300DL, and have not been tested on any other printers.

.........But I do not know where to do it, which file configures this dimension? The PPD printer file perhaps?.

I use this printer all the time. Maybe you have A4 installed?

Rick, I found the solution, you were right. The printer needed a roller and sensor cleaning, this is the reason for the random 1 inch offset. I would advice to anyone for reading the maintenance manual. Than you,
