Auto-load the Laserjet-1000 firmware on Leopard

I have successfully installed the driver on my macosx machine running Leopard, but having to (re)load the firmware every once in a while is mildly annoying.
With the previous macosx version, I used the Zenographics driver which somehow managed to load the firmware automatically.
How can I do the same auto-loading with Leopard?
In the worst case, maybe it would be sufficient to prepend the firmware to each and every job?

You would have a delay 10-20 seconds.

So? Nobody knows how to auto-reload the firmware whenever the printer/computer is turned back on? Does anyone have an idea of some other place where I could ask this question with a better chance of getting an answer?
