Please add support for ML-1670 / ML-1675

I am using this driver to support the ML-1675 Printer by using the CLP-310 driver in Monochrome mode. This appears to work fine so far either at 1200 DPI or 1200x600, but not at 600 DPI. The clp310 driver actually is better for higher resolution than the clp315 which works at 600 DPI but not at 1200 DPI..

I think in order to properly support the ML-1670 / ML-1675 one would need to add its own driver modifying the CLP-310 and locking it into Monochrome and using the 1200 DPI and 1200x600 DPI settings, but not the 600 DPI. Apparently the ability to print at 600 DPI is already working from the CLP315 driver so that formula should be used on new ML1670 driver.

Many folks are looking for this solution on Raspberry Pi as the Samsing drivers do not work on Raspbian. The SPLX drivers seem to produce output with a horizontal offset. I suspect that others are using these drivers to support other Samsung monochrome printers as well.

From foomatic-db/printer/Samsung-CLP-310.xml:

"The case is white for the CLP-310, black for the CLP-315. Other than that, there is no difference."

And there is no difference in the driver software.

No idea what [case[ you refer to other than possibly the color of the printer itself. .

I can say that I have tested extensively and this is what I found

CLP 310 driver works at 1200 DPI and 1200x600 DPI

CLP 315 driver works at 600 DPI

I suggest there is some difference in the driver as others have noted as well.

It was a site in German that clued me in to the CLP-310 driver working at 1200 DPI where he also indicated the CLP315 driver only works at 600 DPI

This was one of the posts I found (in Italian)
https://www.osside.net/2013/02/laser-printer-samsung-ml-1670-su-debian-splix-way/

It indicates that the SPLIX driver does not work at 1200 DPI .

I just also re-confirmed that the CLP-310 driver WILL NOT print at 600 DPI

There is NO difference between CLP-310 and CLP-315 other than color of the printer case.
