Rick, I want to point out that when you enter the number of copies you want in the box next to the collate checkbox, no matter how many copies you specify, you only get one on my printer. However, you can easily find "printer features" and where you specify resolution, etc. there is a box called "copies". This one works!!!!!! I am pleased as punch
happy customer
borisoff22

PS It is important that I found out that the foo2 driver works perfectly because Apple just supposedly fixed the drivers for HP but still the queue is disfunctional. This is the problem on many HP printers running on Leopard and the Foo2 driver doesnt have the problem.

Also, the Gutenprint driver works with 600 dpi only and after printing each page, the driver turns off the motor of the printer for half a second. It drives me nuts because I don't like the lack of smoothness and don't want to wear out my motor.

This is why The Foo2 driver is the very best and I am glad that I discovered how to get more copies.

I bought the foo2zjs driver from you and noticed that the number of copies feature doesn't work. If I want to print out 2 copies of something and put in 2, the driver only prints out 1 copy on my Mac. Not a biggy but wondering if I did something wrong?

Hi Rick,

Why HP Laserjet 1022 don't need firmware loaded like HP Laserjet 1020?
What is the internal diference between the two printers?

I am for buying the HP Laserjet 1020 that is more accessible in price, but I was interested to know that differed.

Thanks in advance.

PD: Very good job your work in these drivers. Thanks!

How do I lighten a monochrome picture in Safari. No control. (2 replies)

I paid for the driver. I have an HP 1022 running on Leopard 10.5.4. Your driver allows me to use the queue on my IMAC which HP's driver has a bug and won't queue properly running under Leopard.

First, when I use the terminal, it asks for administrator password but the prompt accepts no input. I assume that this terminal is not for Macs? What other software on the net could I need?

More importantly, in your driver, in Safari, color pictures come out in monochrome as they should be but they are a little too dark for my tastes. How do I lighten the default print density to be more like the buggy HP driver? There is no setting under a "print options" tab to darken or lighten the printout under Safari. If there is a picture of a girl in color, when printed out the background and face of the girl are not as bright as when done with the buggy HP driver.

If one needs to enter a "script" to compile every times one prints, then it is way over my head and must live with the darker image. If it is a one time fix, please explain the procedure simply, especially if I have to use that terminal.
Thank you

Hello!,
My problem is that I just downloaded Safari browser and my HP 1022 prints the tiniest font, only! I have been reading about Drivers and I would like to know, is it just a font adjustment or something more serious, like a Driver that I need? If it is a font adjustment, How do I go about adjusting the font for the HP 1022?
Thanks,

I'm using cups with foo2zjs downloaded and installed today.

The 1022 has a standard paper tray, and a bypass. I was hoping the driver would allow me to select one or the other, but if there's paper in the bypass, it always uses the bypass, regardless of what source I select in cups or at the lpr command line.

Is this driver supposed to support paper source?

I understand lj1022 doesn't need the firmware to be loaded. But in windows driver directory, I see the firmware image of a version that is later than what's in the printer. I think windows driver loads this "updated" firmware on top of the old one. I tried cat'ing the image to the dev file, but it did not work. I think lj1022 needs to receive a special command to change its state before loading a new firmware. Any idea?
