Hello,
I am interested in the foo2hp driver for multiple Macs at my domestile; yes, we all purchased Macbook Pros and have a CP1215 lying around just waiting to get it's ink supply all used up.. :)
Now, in order to do this we are aware that we must follow the instructions in INSTALL.OSX - I have the technical ability to follow those instructions on my Mac but the rest of the Macs don't even have XCode installed (there is even now an extra step required for Mountain Lion users I understand where the terminal commands that go with XCode are now a separate download) nor is there time for all that mucking around on other peoples MacBook Pros.
If it were packaged and easily installable there wouldn't be an issue..
Has anyone looked into properly packaging foo2x? Specifically we need foo2hp packaged, along with running dependencies (Ghostscript presumably - in a separate place so not to wipe over other ghostscript installs).
All the Macs are running Mountain Lion so if the package was Mountain Lion compatible it would be extra nice.
I don't know what else to do but ask nicely :) Please!...

I followed the instructions on this site to setup my CP1215 on Mac OS 10.6. It works great, the only problem is the colors don't look totally right. But no big deal.
My question is — why do the instructions say to create separate print queues for color and B&W? I've tried printing black text using the color queue and it seems to work fine. Is there any reason not to do this?

When I go to "Set Printer Options" in CUPS, I select "Color" in "Color Mode", hit "Set Printer Options", do a test page, and it's monochrome. Going back to the "Set Printer Options" shows it' re-selected itself to "Monochrome". Both units are running OSX 10.5.8, and I used the latest version of ghostscript (9.0.2). wget @1.12 net/wget

I've been already done all steps from INSTALL.osx but it didn't worked out. When I send test page from cups to printer I see:
USBF:	412302.832	AppleUSBEHCI[0x830e000]::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 0x24, timing out! (Addr: 2, EP: 1)
CUPS logs:

So, as I understand cups thinks that it printed the test page, the task is dissapearing from the list of pending printer tasks, so all ok! :) But printer doesn't know that it "prints" :)

I've already printed successfully on this system, but then either after updating OS or some other software like CUPS it refuses to print! How can I solve this?

Printing something like this: http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0526822/colorline.ps
Looks like this: http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0526822/colorline.jpg

This happens with both foo2hp and hplip. The Windows drivers works fine. There is however some oddity with remote printing on Windows: The same problem occurs if the driver is installed manually. Remote printing works if I let windows fetch the driver from the Windows server. I have described this behavior here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/403052 (Yes, I am aware hplip != foo2hp, but I don't want to type all this again)

I suspect that there are different kinds of CP1215 printers, and some have proper yellow alignment, while others don't, and the windows driver knows about this and corrects this in software. Is there any way to dump information about the printer? Or is the serial number all we have?

I pledge a $100 donation to the foo2hp project if this issue is resolved, even if its hacky workaround that requires me to configure some yellow offset in the ppd file manually.

is it possible to implement a function making the printer ignore cartridges with a page counter of zero?
