Possible driver for Kodak EPS 5250 (1 reply)

I have been trying to write a filter for this AIO printer, and have had some success, basing it on the foo2lava driver for the Konica/Minolta OPL printers.
I have a filter that will make monochrome print files that print OK using:
nc (IP address) 9100 < myoutputfile

But I am not getting much success with using my filter with CUPS. I seem to be sending the data to the printer, but it spews out a blank page.
I'm running out of ideas for investigating this. Does anyone have any tips?

Rick would you be interested in incorporating this filter into foo2lava one day?

My 2 cents contribution.
By sniffing the network exchange between my wife's mac and the printer,
I was able to catch the content of the job.
And bingo, the 4690MF is also a lava printer.
I installed the 2490MF printer driver and I was able to use the printer to print.
There's just some minor adjustment like margins and icc profile that are provided in the Mac Driver.

Konica Minolta Magicolor 1690MF, 1690MF-D (2 replies)

Hi,

i'm interested in buying the 1690MF, but did not find any information if it would run under Linux. Can anyone give me an estimate? :)

I don't know if the Printer uses LAVAFLOW, but it seems to be marketed as a successor to the 2490MF.

Minolta distributes an OSX driver in Apple Disk Image File Format,
I unpacked this to:

http://koffein.org/av/magicolor_1690mf/ also contains the Reference Guide (RG...)
and the zip file contained in the original .dmg from Minolta.

Hi,

Ubuntu proposes a driver by default. When I install the latest driver from this site, how can I be sure that I choose the right one from the Ubuntu menus ? If I do the uninstall (as per the instructions) and the install, is there in the end only one driver ?
