2530 DL does print in color anymore (2 replies)

I have a simple two words file that I can't print from open office nor from evince.

When I try to print it using monochrome, it does work; not otherwise

When I try to print a color document (evince or eye of gnome), it does work.

After following the instructions to install the foo2lava on OSX Leopard,
I can print to the printer but unfortunately, nothing is sent from the
spooler to the device.
I see the queue gets emptied, but the device remains quiet...
Any idea?

2530dl and ubuntu 8.04 [CUPS problem] (1 reply)

Hi every one.

I have a 2530DL on the network (not usb).

Everything was working fine with ubuntu 7.10. I installed 8.04 and I can print without problem from the user used for installing ubuntu. My problem is that I can't print from another user (either desktop user, administrator user or member of lpadmin).

CUPS says job finished on every task sent (my user and the other users), but the tasks sent with the other users don't even seem to reach the printer.

I did the install on another computer and same thing happens. There is no way I can print from another user.

I tried two drivers, the one from this site on one computer and the one from ubuntu on the other. Same results.

Two questions :
*I am the only one to have this problem ?
*Do you have any idea where I could get help on this ?

At some point I had ubuntu 7.04 printing, but can not print any more.

I can see the printer in gnome_print_manager and in cups and can telnet to it

I'm trying to get a network printer going using the foo2zjs driver. I have followed instructions as far as I know, (It took a few tries) but when I print nothing happens. The printer q for the magicolor-2530-dl lists the print job but after a few moments lists the print job as stopped. OS is Ubuntu 6.06. For properties, connection I selected network printer, HP Jetdirect, host is IP address and port is 9100. If I put the IP address in my brouser it sees the printer on the network. Any suggestions as to what to do, or what to redo would be appreciated.

2530DL not working with OEM Toner (2 replies)

I have downloaded and installed the printer driver as per instructions. My OS is Ubuntu 7.04.
However, I cannot print. I am using an OEM toner cartridge and under Windows I receive a message where I need to acknowledge that a 'non-genuine' cartridge has been installed. Once I acknowledge then the printer starts to print.
In Ubuntu I don't get that message and under jobs the status message switches from
Printing: job-printing to Paused: job-hold-until-specified.

I suspect that it is waiting for that message to be acknowledged.

Is there any work around for this?
Or a way to verify that this is really what's happening?

Can't get colour to work with lpr and CUPS (no replies)

Good morning.
I have installed the driver following the instructions on the homepage, and everything works ok when I print the test page from CUPS web interface, both in BW and in ICM color modes. But if I try to use lpr (or any other program that calls it for printing, like xpdf), the printer led only blinks for one second, and the printer does nothing else. If I turn the CUPS printer options to "Monochrome", everything works ok. Exception: firefox prints even in color mode, and I really don't know why.

Multiple Page Printing (10 replies)

When printing multiple pages, only the first page will print. When looking at CUPS and the printer server information, it shows only 1 page has been sent.

If the end of the first page does not have a pagefeed type command, the printer will lock the rest of the print jobs requiring you to turn off the printer before continuing (can't cancel jobs). An example of this is printing long pages from inside FireFox. Pages printed from OOo terminate just fine, but will not print after the first page.

Just noticed this: Inside CUPS, the number of pages is showing as "Unknown" for completed print jobs.

Evince will print the first page, but holds the same properties as OOo. With the pagefeed command, the print job terminates properly, but does not continue past the first page.

I can send a print to the printer and watch as the printer wakes up from energy saving and attempts to print, Every time I print something though, I get the error "SIZE/TYPE ERROR" even though I'm setting the paper size correctly.

AMD64 install w/Networked 2530. Paper Size is set to "Letter".
